Can Windows 9 recover Windows 8 failure?
Why spend money if they still can you Windows 7. Windows 8 interface is just not worth upgrade. It's might look fancy, but it's just not usable for many user.Windows 8 is also known as Microsoft Bob in the history of Microsoft product failure. This is probably due to lack of market research or maybe because of competion from Apple and Google. Or maybe the is no longer a great idea since the release of Windows 7. The Windows 8 failed to capture the market because people refuse to changes.
Desktop market is still relevant. Microsoft make a mistake by entering the table market so late. The neglet the desktop market in the Windows 8. The pay the price and should learn the lesson for Windows 9.
So here is the strategy for Windows 9, forget about tablet market, forget about smartphone market. Focus on Desktop/ PC market. People are more productive using their PC/Notebook compare to table or smartphone. People use tablet and smartphone for fashion/entertaiment purpose. To show off, thats why Goole Android is so successful. Because fashion/entertaiment and advertisement are like sibling. Google are smart, they don't try to push for desktop market for their ChromeBook OS. They use their strength to move forward. The don't copy, they just innovate. The innovation come from customer demand. The study how to increase the productivity and reduce cost from the product and OS.
Windows 9 should focus on increasing productivity of computer user. Windows 9 should be renamed as Windows Experience 9. Windows XP is so sucessful because it's sell new experince for the user. It's offer better stability and backward software compatabality. The interface is not much differenct from previous Windows and people like it. The familiar interface increase productivity and make more money. Then they will justify the upgrade to Windows 9. The update should increase based on user feedback, based on user real problem. Don't let the designer or the programmer decide the design of the system. They are different breed of people. Special one. The did they good jobs creating the best system in the world. But the public are the one who will purchase the products.
So Windows Experience 9 is the future that will recover Windows 8 failure. And make sure the price of Windows Experience 9 is right. Because consumer are price sensitive. Make Windows Experience luxury and look expensive. It's expensive because it's increase productivity and support a large ecosystem of existing Windows platform since the DOS age.
Don't just kill DOS, 16bit system or even 32bit system but the sake of few second speed. People don't mind to wait a few more second if it's help them increase productivity.
So, i believe that with the next move of Microsoft in Windows 9. We can see some hope that it's will recovery from it's Windows 8 failure.
